70th Anniversary

1947, thus 70 years ago, Mr. Alfred J. Wertli founded his enterprise ALFRED WERTLI AG first in Baden, Switzerland. The success story of horizontal continuous casting took off after the company moved to Winterthur / Switzerland, 25 km northeast of Zurich / Switzerland, only 15 km from Zurich Airport. In 1971 ALFRED WERTLI AG moved into Andelfingen / Switzerland, 15 km north of Winterthur / Switzerland, to a new production, manufacturing and assembly site including warehouse.

After the decease of the company founder in 1981, Mr. Thomas P. Wertli took over general management in second generation. Thomas Wertli led ALFRED WERTLI AG until end of 2014. He handed over the management to his son Christian Wertli on January 1, 2015, who now leads the company as CEO in third generation. Thomas Wertli remains Chairman of the Board of Directors of ALFRED WERTLI AG.

In 2006, ALFRED WERTLI AG moved to new premises in Neuhausen am Rheinfall, Switzerland, however this was only an interim solution. In 2011, ALFRED WERTLI moved into new, modern production halls, also in Neuhausen am Rheinfall / Switzerland. The new modern and generous plant has been the origin of WERTLI continuous casting systems since then.
